Presentation Passion: Connecting to your passion and sharing it with the world
I just read Nancy Duarte’s analysis of Bill Gates’ TED presentation. The classic comparison of presentation styles between Steve Jobs and Bill Gates has been written about a lot before. What a contrast to the many comments of how boring Bill Gates’ presentations normally are.
This week at TED, Bill came through with flying colors.
What changed?
Gone were the long bullet lists and boring, complex slides of the past:

This week we saw Bill Gates’ connecting to his passion and brilliantly sharing that passion with his audience in a dynamic, authentic and empathetic way. Bravo Mr Gates!
On a personal note, I took a small leaf out of Mr Gates’ book this past week when I presented “How do companies champion their brands in this current digital age” to the OCAD Masters class in Toronto.
